By accessing our site and courses, you agree to these Terms. If you disagree, do not use the service.

Accounts

You are responsible for your credentials and activity under your account.

You must provide accurate information, maintain a strong password, and promptly notify us of any unauthorized use. You must be at least the age of majority in your province or have verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Payments and Refunds

Prices are in CAD. Refunds may be considered within 7 days before course start.

Taxes: Applicable federal and provincial taxes will be added at checkout. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may suspend access until the balance is paid.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Certain downloadable or consumable materials may be non‑refundable where explicitly stated prior to purchase.

Acceptable Use

No harassment, unlawful content, or unauthorized redistribution of materials.

  • Do not attempt to breach security, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems.
  • Do not share course materials publicly or resell access without written permission.
  • Respect classmates and instructors; no hate speech, harassment, or doxxing.
  • Follow Canadian and provincial laws applicable to your locality.

Intellectual Property

All course content, site design, graphics, and trademarks are owned by Synveren Journalism Academy or its licensors and are protected by Canadian and international IP laws. Limited, revocable personal license is granted for enrolled students to access and use content for their individual learning.

Privacy

We collect the minimum necessary data to provide services. For details on data categories, retention, and your rights, consult our Privacy Policy available through the site navigation. You may request access or deletion where legally applicable.

Liability

Services are provided “as is” to the extent permitted by Canadian law.

To the maximum extent permitted, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Total liability will not exceed the amounts you paid in the 6 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non‑payment, or unlawful activity. You may cancel your account at any time; some obligations (fees owed, IP restrictions) survive termination.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will first be addressed via good‑faith negotiation; if unresolved within 30 days, the dispute may be brought in the courts of Ontario with venue in Toronto.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “Effective date”. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
